Founder's Day

Image
Today was Southwell's birthday! Southwell turned 106 today. I have only been at Southwell for 8 almost 9 years now, and for Southwell to be existent for 106 years is unimaginable! We got to sit on the oval which is very uncommon as the oval is a sacred place. I have been to many founders day's before, and Mr Speedy glammed it up a little bit this year, and I have to say, it was super fun! I loved the line dancing, the conga lines and the rock band. One of my close friends, Alexis, was in the 2nd rock band. It was amazing seeing the talented students from Southwell. Overall, I loved this years Founder's day! I'm coming to the realisation that this year there was a lot of lasts. This is my last founder's day, and I am very, very, very sad that my Southwell life is coming to an end.

Yet another 100 word challenge ;) This time the prompt was . . .  Here in the UK we are about to celebrate Bonfire Night when the skies will be full of fireworks. We have also recently enjoyed the festival of Diwali the Hindu celebration of light. So, with these events in mind the prompt this time is a series of words, all of which must be in your writing but they can be in any order. flame,  swimming,  celebrated, white, tomorrow    Swimming. In the pool, in the sea, in the river, It’s my happy place. I take one last lustful look at the white froth drifting ashore, and start jogging towards the big vicious flame surrounded by shapes dancing around it. As I approach the bonfire, I see white smoke emerging from the bright orange blaze. My eyes make the shapes to be people, and as I move closer yet, the faces. This year has come to an end, and celebration for all the good things that came to us.  A year has been celebrated, and tomorrow is another day, another year; For which

100 Word Challenge - 24 October

The promt was ....as the door slammed, I knew.... As the door slammed, I knew something was off. Me and Wade have a lot of arguments, but he never seemed to get th is vexed about it. My best friend, Wade Fergus, was known for keeping a cool head in stressful situations. I walk over to the glass panel in the door frame, and peer through the smudged glass. What better to see, peering back at me, Wade. I stood back to open the door, and I turned the doorknob, to no avail. I tried again, but still to no avail. Wade frantically said ‘Shanan!’ We both anxiously started pushing the door handle. ‘Wade, Help Me!’ I scream in trepidation. . .

My Most Treasured Item

GOIS ITS ANOTHER 100 WORD CHALLENGE! YAY! The prompt was . . . What is your most treasured item. Do not give it away. So take a WILD GUESS and try to figure out what this item is! It sits close to my heart, as the person who gave it to me does. Cold and dangling, yet it makes me feel warm and fuzzy. It's silver chain feels reassuring, as I wind my finger around it when I'm anxious. Knowing someone else too, wears a similar one makes the world seem brighter when I slip it on my neck. The white glass like pendant glimmers in the light and draws peoples attention. It's part of a pair, and I'm lucky enough to have half. It signifies a life long bond between friends.    Maddisonnn

Yet Another 100 Word Challenge!  This was the prompt ...  It had to be a recount, so it was a bit out of my comfort zone. ENJOY! Letterman’s Post Pair of Gumboots Found in Smalls Town Yesterday, 1st Of May, in Smalls Town, a pair of gumboots, with a body attached, was found in Smalls Lake. Two women (who have asked for their Identities to be kept classified) were walking down Park Avenue when they came across a horrific scene. A pair of legs, with gumboots, was sticking upright from their local lake. The women called their local police station, and further action was taken. The man has been identified to be Sam Farmer, our local butcher. You may ask, who drowned him? But the real crime - as you know is - Why was he wearing gumboots?
