                                 Reading In 7DM

This past few weeks in 7DM, we have been learning about 'The Outside Experience, Managing Self'. We read 3 stories called: Outward Bound, Dear Mum, and The Big Jump! Outward Bound and Dear Mum were about two people who were recounting about their experience on an Outward Bound. The Big Jump was about Big Daddy (Charlie) being too scared to do the flying fox over his camp. He was supposed to be a tough bully, but really he was quite chicken! I reckon these books are a good motivation for us to try everything at camp and have FUN! Maybe someday I'll be lucky enough to experience an Outward Bound! The prompt was …but where would we hide it all?… Heart hammering. Knees shaking. Hands trembling. I push my glasses back to perch on my nose. 'STEVEN, BACK TO THE GRIND NOW!' I hear a familiar booming voice ring through my ears. 'THE SNAKES ARE DEPENDING ON YOU!' Yes. A gang. Now, you wouldn't expect me, a nerdy individual to be in a gang. I don't even want to be in this darn gang. Stupid fathers and being an 'heir' to the 'throne'. 'STEVEN WE DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME!' Oops. Rattlesnake hands me a huge rucksack big enough to accommodate a body. Wait . . . a body? The suspense is killing me. Stupid 'no questions' rule. ‘But dad . . . . where would we hide it all?’
